Vajrasana is a kneeling seated pose, sitting on the heels with a straight back. It is used for pranayama and meditation, and is traditionally practised after meals.

How to do Vajrasana

  1. Kneel with the knees together and the tops of the feet on the floor.
  2. Bring the big toes together and let the heels move slightly apart.
  3. Sit back between or on the heels.
  4. Rest the hands on the thighs and sit tall.
  5. Close the eyes and breathe slowly for 1 to 5 minutes.

Coming out of the pose

  1. Lean forward onto the hands and stretch the legs out behind or in front.
